For the name, Soni and I thought about cities with rich jazz history and my hometown Chicago was the winner. From a list of Chicago related things, the name of two popular intersections called Six Corners came to mind. One intersection is a time capsule to the past with Art Deco architecture (pictured) and the other is a bustling spot for young professionals. The original intersection inspired the name and visual identity of the festival.

A dynamic logo captures the erratic nature of jazz.

The color palette was inspired by albums from classic jazz artists like Miles Davis and John Coltrane. The color names are jazz slang.

This festival banner also captures the erratic nature of jazz, but as if each shape represents a different instrument.
